ParkinsonTV
Radboud University Medical Centre
How do you make information about Parkinson’s disease easily available? Since 2014, the online ParkinsonTV video channel has provided accessible information about the condition in the form of monthly interactive broadcasts. Constantly changing, relevant and topical themes are discussed, with contributions from patients, informal carers, specialist neurologists, healthcare professionals, and researchers.
The broadcasts are always available and are announced via various social media, a newsletter, and flyers. In this way, stakeholders such as people with Parkinson’s disease and their families and loved ones, as well as professionals, receive relevant, up-to-date and easily accessible information from the care and research sectors. The platform has attracted interest internationally and there are now also broadcasts in English.
The ParkinsonTV concept lends itself perfectly to other chronic conditions. The team intend using the grant from the Rewarded! Fund to expand into similar online TV for people with other conditions.
