Towards a more sustainable economy

Towards a more sustainable economy

University of Tilburg, Tilburg School of Economics and Management

It is vital to transform today’s economy into one that utilises more environmentally friendly sources of energy. This requires national government, provinces, municipalities, and households to take a large number of far-reaching decisions. Environmental economics has an important role to play in this.

Members of this group disseminate scientific findings to civil servants and stakeholders by means of public lectures, presentations to the Netherlands Court of Audit and ministries, articles in newspapers and professional journals, and interviews on radio and TV. In this way, they fuel debate on the various trade-offs and behavioural changes required.

Nowadays, digital platforms and events offer new opportunities. The grant from the Rewarded! Fund will enable the group members to take advantage of those opportunities and to contribute further to sharing scientific insights with relevant stakeholders on the one hand and communicating those insights clearly for the general public on the other.
